Policy Analyst
Lesley Muldoon joined Achieve as Policy Analyst in August 2008, after serving as a research intern here during graduate school. As a policy analyst, she directly supports a number of research efforts for the American Diploma Project Network and Achieve’s State Leadership Team.
She previously worked on Capitol Hill for more than four years as an aide to U.S. Representative Rush Holt, a member of the House Committee on Education and Labor. As Executive Assistant to the Congressman, her duties included a mix of legislative and administrative responsibilities, providing a solid foundation in the legislative process and on a broad range of policy issues.
Originally from central New Jersey, Lesley received a bachelor’s degree in English and history from the University of Maryland. In 2008, she earned a Master of Public Policy from the Georgetown Public Policy Institute, where she wrote her thesis on the relationship between socioeconomic differences in students’ access to Advanced Placement courses and the college enrollment gap. As the daughter of a high school English teacher, she has been interested in education issues for as long as she can remember.
